Don’t Let This Opportunity Pass!

It's the end of the year and a great time to have "evaluation meetings" with your clients.  Don't you want to know how you are doing?  By asking the right questions you will be able to understand how well you're doing as well as how you are being evaluated.  Here are some questions from my friend Jeff Schmidt that I would like to suggest:

  1. In what areas have I exceeded your expectations this year?
  2. Are there any areas where I have disappointed you?
  3. As we look to next year, are there things you would like me to do more of?
  4. Anything you hope I'll never do again?

Do you think your competitors ask these year-end-questions?  I bet they don't.  These questions are just about guaranteed to separate you from your competition.  Are you afraid to ask these questions?  Not good.  As my priest / confessor likes to say; "Everyone want to go to heaven but no one wants to die."
