High Gear Training/Hiring Systems is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, and is the premier executive coaching and assessment firm in the mid-Atlantic region.  We typically get calls asking us to help coach/mentor key personnel within organizations. We also get calls from senior management that want deeper insights into work associates and critical new hires.

John is the founder of High Gear Training Systems, an assessment and executive coaching firm headquartered in Baltimore. Clients appreciate his straight talk, sometimes unconventional perspectives, and the depth of his real-world business experience.

John’s business experience includes 12 years with IBM in Baltimore where he worked in a variety of sales and program management positions. Highlights at IBM include attaining 11 100% Clubs as well as serving on the IBM Quality Council responsible for implementing a Total Quality Management mentality for Baltimore field sales operations. John left IBM to start High Gear Training Systems.

John joined his #1 client, Aerotek, Inc. John also served as Project Executive for Aerotek’s Q1 certification with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.

John Davis tries to live by the Jesuit philosophy of “being a man for others.” In keeping with that spirit, John currently serves as the Advisor Board Chairman for The Salvation Army of Central Maryland.

A native of Baltimore, John is a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School and attended Graceland University in Iowa where he graduated with a degree in psychology. John served as an officer in the U.S. Navy prior to joining IBM.
